Precautionary measures and routine maintenance have shut down all but four German nuclear power plants. Chancellor Merkel’s Bavarian sister party now says it wants to bring down the curtain on atomic energy altogether.

German power companies have warned consumers that they might face power shortages in the coming weeks, as only four of the country’s 17 nuclear power plants were providing electricity to the national grid starting from Saturday, May 21.

Eight of the stations were taken offline as a result of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s three-month moratorium on a law lengthening the running time of German nuclear plants. This freeze on the extension, introduced in response to the problems at the Fukushima plant in Japan, effectively removed the mandate allowing the oldest stations in the country to operate.

As of Saturday, the Emsland bei Lingen nuclear plant in north-western Germany became the fifth station to close its doors for three weeks of routine maintenance and safety checks, meaning that 13 of the country’s power plants are temporarily out of commission for one reason or another.

The German power grid says it’s currently buying electricity from Poland and the Czech Republic at most times of the day and night.

Bavaria goes anti-nuclear

The Bavarian faction of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative union, the CSU, set its first-ever target for Germany to stop using nuclear power late on Friday, suggesting a total withdrawal by 2022. The markedly conservative group that dominates Bavarian politics held a closed-door meeting for its top brass which ran several hours late as they debated the issue.

Bavarian State Premier Horst Seehofer said providing a fixed date would encourage the energy sector to concentrate on alternative solutions like renewable energies.

“There will only be investment if we establish clarity,” Seehofer said.

This puts the CSU at odds with their national sister-party, Merkel’s CDU, and with their pro-business FDP coalition partners, both of whom have not named a date for nuclear shutdown. Merkel tends to refer to nuclear power as a bridging technology on the path towards increased renewable-usage, but has shied away from any specific timelines.

“There will be very tight-knit solidarity within the Union,” Seehofer said after the meeting, when asked whether his party’s stance could damage relations with the national office. Merkel was also present in Andechs on Friday evening, although officially, she was visiting the after-party, not the CSU debate.

Workers at the Isar I nuclear plant in Bavaria protested the CSU decision, asking party leaders in an official letter to “stop fuelling fear and mistrust of nuclear power among the people.”

Not soon enough?

Germany had been scheduled to stop all nuclear power production by 2020 as part of a legislation introduced by Chancellor Gerhard Schröder’s Social Democrat and Green coalition, until the current administration overturned this law.

The Social Democrats were also set to debate Germany’s energy policy over the weekend, with party leader Sigmar Gabriel advocating a return to the 2020 shutdown, and a reduced market share for the major players E.On, RWE, Vattenfall and EnBW.

The Green party, meanwhile, says the current government should complete a nuclear withdrawal before the end of the current legislative period in 2017, arguing that events at the Fukushima plant showed that nuclear power is not safe.

For years, Germany’s anti-nuclear movement has been particularly strong, and public opposition has been further fueled first by the government’s new energy policy and then by the earthquake- and tsunami-triggered accident at Fukushima. Poor showings in recent regional elections for Merkel’s conservatives and their liberal allies were perceived in part as a public expression of this dissatisfaction.

Call on Dato' Mah Hang Soon Perak BN government Exco member in charge of local governments to solve the public transport woes in Manjung and other districts. PR is willing to offer its services for the sake of the people to solve the public transport woes though the state power has been taken from them.

One of the top priorities when PR Perak became the state government in March 2008 was to solve the woes of public transportation in Perak. There were no flight services to Perak and bus services were poor or non-existent in many areas.

BN Perak Government had been debating for years whether to extend the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport and whether to build the Ipoh Central Public Transportation Hub in Perak. Meanwhile, the people of Perak were without flight services and public bus transport were poor or non-existent in many areas.

PR Perak Government sprang into action and concluded a deal with Firefly to fly between Ipoh, Singapore and Subang. Firefly is now flying regularly 2 flights a day in and out of Ipoh.

PR Perak government also gathered all the bus operators in Kinta Valley to form a company called The Combines Bus Services Sdn Bhd, which then concluded a deal with the Perak State Government to build the Ipoh Central Public Transportation Hub in Meru Raya. 250 new buses would replace the old buses and they will be plying Kinta Valley and to other parts of Perak and Malaysia within 2 years from the date of the Agreement.

PR Perak government was also finalizing an Agreement with a developer to develop Manjung Central public Transportation Hub in Seri Manjung in the Manjung District but the same was abruptly terminated with the grab of power which occurred on 6th February 2011.

More than 2 years have lapsed but we see very slow progress of Ipoh Central Public Transportation Hub taking shape. Old buses in Ipoh have yet to be replaced.
Last year, the BN Government announced a subsidy of RM70,000.00 per month for a bus company to operate in Manjung District and it was to commence operation the beginning of this year but nothing has materialized. The poor especially those who are sick continue to suffer. They could not go to the hospital with the cheaper mode of public bus transport. Many have to pay as much as RM30 per trip to the Manjung Hospital using taxis.

If BN Government does not know how to solve the public transport problem, the Pakatan Rakyat is willing to offer its services for the sake of the people though the state power has been taken away from us.

檳政府4管齊下要做到居者有其屋目標

（檳城30日訊）為顧及中低下層市民對房屋的需求，中央及州政府"各施其法"以滿足人們的需求。除中央政府表示將在檳州建設10萬到20萬令吉中廉價房屋外，檳州政府也將4管齊下，希望做到居者有其屋目標。

副首相丹斯里慕尤丁日前宣佈，中央政府將在7月推出"可負擔房屋計劃"（Skim Rumah Mampu Milik），興建價格介於10萬至15萬令吉的公寓，惠及中低下收入的人民，如果檳州擁有這需要，這項計劃也會開到檳州。

檳房屋供應及需求已平衡

針對中央政府有意在檳州物地點推行上述計劃一事，檳州房屋、城市及鄉村規劃委員會主席黃漢偉表示，據2010年財政部的產業報告，檳州的房屋供應及需求已處於平衡階段。
他透露，據知，目前檳州有160萬人口，全檳共有逾30萬間房屋，包括排屋、公寓及組屋單位，以比率計算，平均每間房子將住有4至5人，這已達至健康的比率，然而當局接獲投訴，一些地區仍面對房屋供應不足的問題。

他相信，副首相所指的適當的地點，即是一些就業機會高、交通方便，但又未有足夠房屋供民租購的地點。

"其實，針對這事情，檳州政府早在2年前已在威北、威中及檳島西南區鑒定了4個地點，並在第十大馬計劃中向中央政府申請撥款，興建人民或廉價組屋，然而有關申請至今尚未有答覆。"

他表示，無論如何，為了擴大民眾的利益，州政府不會放棄落實有關計劃。
"我們將在7月成立房屋局後，重新探討有關事宜，即使不獲中央政府的協助，我們也會想辦法解決房屋供不應求的回題。"

他說，由於到檳投資的商家不斷增加，州內的就業機會就隨即提高，為應付州民及外州人士的房屋需求，政府有必要付出更大的努力。

"據估計，州政府平均每年須興建1萬至2萬間的房屋，這也是為何，州政府會在興建房屋政策上，規定發展商在任何房屋發展計劃中，必須興建30%的中廉價屋。"

DAP Not Interested In The Tiff Between UMNO And MCA Or Internal MCA Rivalries But Whether The BN Government Can Fully Disclose The Details Of All PSD Scholarship Holders And Ensure That All Top Students Get Overseas Scholarships?

DAP is not interested in the tiff between UMNO and MCA or internal MCA rivalries but whether the BN government can fully disclose the details of all Public Service Department (PSD) scholarship holders given on merit and ensure that all top students can get overseas scholarship. PSD had reserved 300 overseas scholarships for top students based purely on merit and not on race. Wee had claimed that not all these 300 overseas scholarships given were to top students based on merit.

MCA Youth chief and Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz had a public dispute over who was lying on whether there were abuses in the award of PSD scholarship. Wee had earlier exposed cases of top 8A+ students denied overseas scholarships granted to those with poorer results. Nazri had vehemently denied Wee's claims of abuses of power as baseless.

MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek then said that all top students should be awarded overseas scholarships. However when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that every 8A+ student will be awarded a scholarship but not all would be sent overseas, Wee agreed with the Prime Minister.

Now Wee has issued a statement that these were two separate matters and that both the Prime Minister and Chua was right. Wee even accused DAP of trying to drive a wedge between him and his MCA President.

This is confusing to the public. DAP is also not interested in internal MCA rivalries and faction politics. Everyone knows that Wee was part of the MCA faction that sacked Chua Soi Lek as a MCA member for Chua's involvement in the sex video tape scandal and Wee had vehemently opposed Chua's election as MCA President.

What DAP is interested in is to ensure that all top students get overseas scholarships as well as a full disclosure of the results of top scholarship students to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability. In response to Nazri's accusations that Wee is lying, Wee should also reveal the students who obtained overseas scholarships based on merit but were not top students.

Wee juga turut mengakui bahawa bukan semua 300 biasiswa untuk program ijazah luar Negara ini diberikan kepada pelajar cemerlang berdasarkan prestasi.

Ketua Pemuda MCA yang juga Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan, Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong dan Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz mempertikaikan siapa yang harus dipersalahkan dalam pengagihan biasiswa JPA ini. Wee awal- awal lagi telah mendedahkan hak pelajar yang memperolehi keputusan 8A+ telah dinafikan untuk menerima biasiswa program ijazah luar Negara berbanding pelajar yang memperolehi keputusan kurang cemerlang. Nazri pula dengan tegas menyelar kenyataan Wee yang dianggap tidak berasas.

Presiden MCA, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek kemudiannya mengatakan bahawa semua pelajar cemerlang harus diberikan biasiswa luar Negara. Walau bagaimanapun Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata bahawa setiap pelajar yang memperolehi keputusan 8A+ akan diberikan biasiswa tetapi tidak semua akan dihantar ke luar Negara- Wee bersetuju dengan Perdana Menteri.

Kini Wee telah mengeluarkan kenyataan bahawa terdapat dua perkara berbeza dan pendapat kedua- dua Perdana Menteri dan Chua adalah benar. Wee menuduh DAP cuba untuk menimbulkan pergaduhan antara beliau dan Presiden MCA.

Perkara ini sangat mengelirukan rakyat. DAP tidak pernah tertarik untuk terlibat dalam pergaduhan dalaman MCA dan puak politiknya. Semua orang tahu bahawa Wee adalah sebahagian daripada puak MCA yang telah memecat Chua Soi Lek sebagai ahli MCA berikutan skandal video seks yang melibatkan Chua. Wee juga tegas menentang untuk melantik Chua sebagai Presiden MCA.

Apa yang DAP tertarik sekarang hanyalah untuk memastikan semua pelajar cemerlang ini memperolehi biasiswa untuk program ijazah luar Negara dan memastikan butiran lanjut mengenai penerima biasiswa didedahkan bagi menegakkan prinsip telus dan tranparensi dapat diamalkan. Mengenai tuduhan Nazri yang mengatakan Wee berbohong, Wee seharusnya tampil untuk mendedahkan maklumat mengenai pelajar bukan pelajar cemerlang yang memperolehi biasiswa luar Negara yang sepatutnya diberi berdasarkan prestasi.

魏家祥已经发表文告，指这是两件不同的事，而首相与蔡细历的言论都是对的。魏家祥甚至指责行动党企图在他与蔡细历之间挑拨离间。

公众对此感到混淆。行动党对马华的党内斗争和派系政治没有兴趣。反正每个人都知道魏家祥是属于倒戈蔡细历、在性爱光碟事件中撤除蔡细历党员藉的那一派，他也曾经强烈地反对蔡细历竞选马华总会长。

我们最关注的问题是，国阵政府能不能基于透明与公信原则，公开所有公共服务奖学金得主的成绩，确保所有特优生都能获得海外奖学金？至于纳兹里指责魏家祥撒谎，那么魏家祥也应该拿出凭证，究竟哪些人获得绩效海外奖学金、却不是特优生？

சிறு வியாபாரம் செய்ய ஆர்வமுள்ளோர் அனைவரும் சிறு பண உதவியை எதிர்பார்த்து திரண்டு வந்திருந்தது மனதுக்கு மிக மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது எனக் கூறிய சார்ல்ஸ், தலா 130 பேர்கள் இப்பட்டறையில் கலந்து கொண்டு பிரமிக்க செய்து விட்டனர் எனக் கூறினார்.

இப்பட்டறையில் கலந்து கொண்டவர்கள் ஏதேனும் ஒரு சிறு வியாபாரத்தை தொடங்க வேண்டும் அல்லது ஏற்கனவே செய்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் வியாபாரத்தை விரத்தியடையச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக பண உதவியை நாடி வந்திருந்தனர்.

இவர்களுக்கு உதவும் வகையில் கடனுதவிகளை அரசாங்கம் வழங்கினால் கட்டாயம் இம்மக்களின் வாழ்க்கைத் தரம் உயரும் என நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்த சார்ல்ஸ், இது ஏழ்மை நிலையில் உள்ள மக்களுக்கு ஓர் அறிய வாய்ப்பு எனவும் கூறினார்.

குறிப்பாக, மலேசியாவில் இந்தியர்களின் பொருளாதாரம் கடந்த பத்து வருட காலமாக தேக்க நிலையிலே உள்ளது. தற்போது 1.6 விழுக்காட்டில் இருக்கும் இந்தியர்களின் பொருளாதார நிலையை மேலும் உயர்த்த இது ஒரு பொன்னான வாய்ப்பு. அதுமட்டுமின்றி, வறுமையில் தவிக்கும் குடும்பங்களும், தனித்து வாழும் தாய்மார்களும், நடுத்தர வருமானம் பெரும் குடும்பத்தினர்களும் ஏழ்மையிலிருந்து மீட்சி பெறவும் இவ்வாய்ப்பு வழிவகுக்கும். இதனால் இந்தியர்களின் பொருளாதார நிலை மேலும் உயர ஏதுவாக இருக்கும் என்றார் சார்ல்ஸ்.

இப்பட்டறையை வழிநடத்திய நோராயின் மலேசியாவில் இவ்வாறு சிறு தொழில் செய்பவர்களுக்கு வட்டி இல்லாக் கடன் உதவி வழங்குவது இதுவே முதல் முறை எனக் கூறினார். சிலாங்கூர் மாநில அரசாங்கத்தின் இந்த முயற்சியையும் கொள்கையையும் தாம் பாராட்டுவதாக தெரிவித்தார்.

எதிர்பார்த்த அளவிற்கு மேலாக மிக அதிகமாகவே வரவேற்பு கிடைத்ததால், மேலும் இதே பட்டறையை மறுமுறையும் செய்ய எண்ணம் கொண்டுள்ளதாக ஏற்பாட்டுக் குழுவினர்களும் ஜசெக உறுப்பினருமான சார்ல்ஸ் சந்தியாகோவும் கூறினர். இம்முறை இப்பட்டறையில் கலந்து கொள்ள இயலாதவர்கள் அடுத்தமுறை தாராளமாக கலந்து கொள்ளலாம் எனவும் அவர் கூறினார்.

மேலும், "மக்கள் நன்மைக்காகவும் அவர்களது மேம்பாட்டிற்காகவும் சிலாங்கூர் மாநில அரசாங்கம் அயராது உழைத்து வருகிறது. ஆகவே, மக்களது ஆதரவு என்றும் மக்கள் கூட்டணிக்கு தொடர்ந்து கிடைத்தால்தான் மேலும் பல விதத்தில் பல நன்மைகளை அடைய முடியும்", என வலியுறுத்தினார் சார்ல்ஸ்.

பரபரப்பாய் காலம் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் இவ்வேளையில் நமது உடல் நிலையை கவனிக்காமல் இருந்து விடுவதால் பல நோய்களுக்கு நாம் ஆளாகிறோம். அதன் பின் மருத்துவத்திற்கே நாம் சம்பாதிக்கும் பணம் செலாவாகிறது.
